Change how a salary is paid

Follow these steps to set up an employee as paid for contracted hour or for hours worked.

Permission needed

To be able to change how an employee's salary is paid you will need the permission 'Salary paid for', which can be added for you by your manager or any System Owner user by following the steps in our article on adding permissions.


Change how a salary is paid

To make the change, follow the steps below:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Payroll, then Pay.

  3. Click Pay History.

  4. Select the salary line you need to edit.

  5. Click the Edit button to the right of the Paid area.

  6. Select one of the options below:

    • For Contracted Hours or Shifts

    • For Hours or Shifts Worked

  7. If you've selected For Hours or Shifts Worked, select one of the below:

    • Hours from Rota

    • Hours from Timesheet

    • Payroll Claims

  8. Click Done, then Save.
