The value for the hourly rate can be typed in manually if the negotiating body has been set up as 'Hourly Rate'.

A negotiating body set up as 'FTE Salary' will only allow you to enter the value for the FTE salary and will then automatically calculate the hourly rate.

Check the negotiating body's type

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click Pay Grade and Payscale.

  4. Click the title of the negotiating body.

    • Check if the Enter As option is selected as FTE Salary or Hourly Rate.

Change the hourly rate

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click Pay Grade and Payscale.

  4. Click the arrow next to the negotiating body to expand its settings.

  5. To change the existing hourly rate, select the effective date from the Effective Date dropdown list.

  6. Click the Payscales tab.

  7. Scroll down and click Edit.

  8. Change the values in the Hourly Rate fields and click Save.

  9. Select one of the options:

    • Override approval and push out changes now

    • Salary changes will require approval by the configured approver - for example, performance based changes

    • Make Changes to Negotiating Body without pushing out any changes

  10. Click Save.

Create new hourly rates

If you have followed the steps above and you cannot find the effective date you need in the dropdown, this means it hasn't been created yet.

To create hourly rates with a new effective date, without changing the rates from the past:

  1. Go to Setup and select Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click Pay Grade and Payscale.

  4. Click the arrow next to the negotiating body to expand its settings.

  5. Select the Payscales tab and click New.

  6. Enter the date in the New Effective Date field.

  7. Add the values for the hourly rates as needed and click Save and push out changes.

  8. Select one of the options:

    • Override approval and push out changes now

    • Salary changes will require approval by the configured approver - for example, performance based changes

    • Make Changes to Negotiating Body without pushing out any changes

  9. Click Save.
