The hourly rate for payscales on a negotiating body can be set up in two ways:

  • If the negotiating body has been set up as 'Hourly Rate', the hourly rate is manually typed in

  • If the negotiating body has been set up as 'FTE Salary', the hourly rate is calculated based on the FTE salary of each payscale

To check how a negotiating body is set up:

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings, then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click Pay Grade and Payscale.

  4. Click the name of the negotiating body (click its title, not the arrow next to it).

  5. Select an option from the Enter As field.

    • FTE Salary will allow you to enter the FTE salary of each payscale and the hourly rate will automatically be calculated based on this.

    • Hourly Rate will allow you to manually enter the hourly rate.

Hourly rate on an 'FTE Salary' negotiating body

If you have selected FTE Salary, the hourly rate will be calculated using the formula FTESalary / WeeksInYear / FTEHours.

In this formula:

  • The FTESalary value is the amount you've entered for the payscale.

  • The WeeksInYear value is set up by going to System Settings and clicking Payroll, then scrolling to the Payroll Weeks area.

  • The FTEHours value is added on the negotiating body in the FTEHours field.

πŸ“Œ Note: The hourly rate will always be rounded up when calculated. If the formula above results in 22.3152 then this will be rounded up to 22.32.
