To ensure that an employee's holiday entitlement starts on the correct date you will need to change their employment's start date as well as the effective date on their salary line.

Make sure the start date is set up correctly

First, make sure that the employee's start date is correctly set up:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Admin, then Edit an existing post/position.

  3. Click the post you need to change the start date of.

  4. Amend the date in the Start Date field and click Save.

Check the holiday entitlement start date

Once you've made sure that the employee's post has the correct start date in the system, check if their holiday entitlement starts on the same date:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Absence, then Leave.

  3. Check the dates of the entitlement that are displayed in the statistics on the right.

Amend the salary effective date

If the holiday entitlement starts on the incorrect date after taking the steps above, make sure that the salary also starts on the correct date:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Payroll, then Pay.

  3. Click Pay History.

  4. Click the latest salary line, which will be the first in the list.

  5. Enter the correct date in the Effective Date field, then click Save.

Once you have taken the steps above, the holiday entitlement will also start on the correct date.
