Adding an employee on Education People will require you to assign a salary to them. It is not possible to create an employee with no pay details added due to the new starter wizard which will not allow you to proceed unless a post and pay scale are selected.
You can add a new starter on a zero hour contract and make sure that they are paid for payroll claims. In this case, if the employee does not submit any claims and if no further additional payments are added for them, they will not be paid. This is usually set up for agency workers or apprentices.
