Approve the integration

Before the integration can work, you must grant Access Education People permission to read and write data from/to Bromcom. This process requires you to go into Access Education People and Bromcom, so please ensure you have access and permission in both systems to do this.

Follow the steps below to link Access Education People and Bromcom:

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Click System Settings, then MIS Integration.

  3. Click Add MIS Integration.

  4. Select the appropriate options in the drop-down lists and click Save.

    • You will now see the MIS Integration record displayed in the MIS Integrations page, with a status of ‘Awaiting Approval’. At this point, please wait for our Support team to approve the integration before proceeding to the next steps.

  5. Log in to Bromcom and go to Config, then Setup.

  6. Go to Partner Applications and approve the integration.

  7. Return to the MIS Integration page in Access Education People.

  8. Click Check Permissions.

  9. Review the information, ensure it is correct and click Save.

    • The status of the MIS Integration will be updated from ‘Awaiting Approval’ to ‘Ready’. This indicates that the integration is ready to begin the matching process.

Complete the Setup Wizard

Now the integration is in a ‘Ready’ state, you may begin the one-time matching process.

Before starting the process, please ensure you have National Insurance numbers for all staff in both Access Education People and Bromcom. The integration will attempt to match staff members using their National Insurance number.

  1. To begin the process, click the Start Matching Process button.

  2. Match the absence categories on the left to the Bromcom ones on the right and click Next.

  3. Match the absence pay types and click Next.

  4. Match the absence illness categories and click Confirm.

    • As this only relates to sickness, we only ask you to provide a corresponding value for Absence Classes that are of the type ‘Sickness’, so there should be a shorter list on the left.

Once you have completed the final step of the setup wizard, the integration will begin matching staff members between Access Education People and Bromcom. This is an automatic process that runs in the background, so you can continue your work in Access Education People and Bromcom without affecting it.

When the process is complete, the MIS Integration status in Access Education People is displayed as ‘Active’.

⚠️ Important: If you close the Setup Wizard at any point without completing it, any options selected up to that point will be lost. Use the ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ buttons within the wizard to move between steps in the process and to retain previously selected options.
