Each MIS integration you have set up has several tools and options available to allow it to work best to your needs.
To access this page:
Go to Setup and click System Settings.
Click MIS Integration and find the MIS Integration you wish to configure.
Click the three dot menu to the right of the Status.
At this point, the MIS Integration Settings popup will be displayed. Certain options are only available depending on the current state of the integration. Please refer to the table below for details of which options are available when.
Status | Turn | Turn | Turn | Turn | Re-run | Re-match | Remove |
On | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Off | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |

Within this configuration window, you can do several things:
1. Turn Integration On/Off
This switch enables you to turn the Integration On and Off. This is distinct from ‘Remove Integration Details’ option, as turning the integration off using this switch simply pauses the integration. It can then be turned on again at a later date without having to contact Access support to re-enable it. This option may be used if there is a period for which you no longer wish the integration to run, for a variety of reasons.
⚠️ Important: Simply disabling the integration means it will not run while the switch is set to Off, and it can be turned on in the future. You will still be charged for the integration even if it is set to Off. If you wish to remove the integration and no longer pay for it, you must contact product support.
2. Turn Absence Data Syncing On/Off
This switch allows you to choose whether you wish to sync absence data. Turning this off will not affect any other data sync you may have enabled, and prevents the Access Education People system from submitting the absence data to your MIS. This can be turned on or off at any time.
3. Turn Contract Syncing On/Off
This switch allows you to choose whether you wish to sync employees’ posts with their contracts. Turning it off will not impact any other data you are syncing, but you will need to manually manage and assign posts within Bromcom if you wish to not have this option on.
4. Turn Staff Data Syncing On/Off
Staff Data Sync syncs staff data to the MIS system. This can include data such as Ethnicity, Names, Gender, Titles, etc. Having this option disabled means that when a new staff record is created and they’re given a post for this school, the details will not be submitted to Bromcom to create their staff record.
5. Re-Run Setup Wizard
Clicking the ‘Run’ button next to ‘Re-Run Setup Wizard’ will re-run the entire data matching process again. This is often recommended if your MIS or HR system has a new data item for a particular data set and needs matching. (e.g. you have added a new absence category and wish to assign it to a corresponding absence category within your MIS.)
At the end of the Setup Wizard, the integration will attempt to re-match staff and employment positions to business roles using NI Number and the options chosen for each Post.
📌 Note: To achieve this, it will remove all ID records previously added by the integration; however, any manually added records or new records added since the integration was set up will not be affected.
6. Re-Match Staff Members
Clicking the ‘Run’ button for ‘Re-Match Staff Members’ will attempt to match all the staff members in your MIS and HR system using the NI Number.
This may be used if you are not syncing staff member details, and wish to run a rematch to continue using the absence syncing for new staff members, or if the NI Number information was incomplete in one or both systems when the setup wizard was initially run.
7. Remove Integration Details
If you wish to remove the integration details, please contact product support as you may still be charged for the integration if you do not inform us you no longer with to use it.
Clicking the ‘Delete’ button to the right of the ‘Remove Integration Details’ option will remove all sync information for that particular integration.
This includes any IDs stored against absences and staff members, as well as the matches assigned during the MIS Matching process. It is strongly recommended that you do not delete your integration and remove its details unless you no longer use the MIS.
⚠️ Important: This action is irreversible, and to re-enable the integration will require you to run through the data matching and staff matching process, as well as contacting Access to set it up again.
