Absence start and end times

If you intend to use the Bromcom integration to submit absence and leave data to Bromcom so you can arrange cover for your absent staff, it is strongly recommended that you enable absence and leave start times.

This way, when an absence or leave record is created within the staff member’s record, it can be recorded and submitted to your Bromcom account upon saving.

We have also provided an optional setting to make the start and end times mandatory when ‘Part Day’ is selected for the Start or End date of the absence.

📌 Note: Absence and Leave Start and End times are used exclusively for the integration, and are not used to calculate leave or pay. This data is not sent to Payroll, and does not currently appear in any reports.

  1. Click Setup and then Settings.

  2. Click System Settings and select Global.

  3. Search for Record Start And End Times for Absences.

  4. Tick the Boolean box and select True from the dropdown list.

  5. Click Save.

To make the start and end times mandatory when adding leave:

  1. Click Setup and then Settings.

  2. Click System Settings and select Global.

  3. Search for Set Absences Start and End Times as Mandatory.

  4. Set the Boolean value to True and click Save.

When creating a new Absence or Leave record, you must check the ‘Part Day’ checkbox next to the ‘First Date’ or ‘Last Date’ fields for the ‘Start Time’ and ‘End Time’ fields to appear.

These fields accept 24-hour time format (e.g. 13:00, or 1300). If a Start or End time is not specified, a time of 0:00 and 23:59 will be used when submitting to Bromcom.
