Add and amend pay grades

Follow these steps to add a new pay grade on a negotiating body or make changes to an existing one.

Adding a pay grade

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Select Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click Pay Grade and Payscale.

  4. Click the downwards arrow next to a negotiating body's title.

  5. Click the Grades tab.

  6. Click Add Grade.

  7. Enter a description (the title of the grade), an export code (this needs to be the same as the grade's code in the Payroll system - please speak to your Payroll Agent when adding a new code) and an order (the order in which the new grade will be displayed in the list of grades).

  8. Enter the effective date and select the lower and upper pay scales for this grade.

  9. Click Save.


Changing an existing grade

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Select Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click Pay Grade and Payscale.

  4. Click the downwards arrow next to a negotiating body's title.

  5. Click the Grades tab.

  6. Click one of the existing grades.

  7. Here you can amend the effective date and the lower and upper pay scales included in this grade.
