SWC error: 'Post is missing or invalid'

Follow these steps to resolve the error 'Post is missing or invalid' from the SWC error report.

The 'Post is missing or invalid' error is caused by the employee not having a post identifier assigned or having a post identifier that has an invalid code.

Below are the valid post identifiers that can be used for SWC and their respective codes.

EXH

Executive Head Teacher

HDT

Head Teacher

DHT

Deputy Head

AHT

Assistant Head

TCH

Classroom Teacher

TCM

Classroom Teacher, main pay range

TCU

Classroom Teacher, upper pay range

LDP

Leading Practitioner

APP

Apprentice Teacher

LNT

Leadership - Non Teacher

OSP

Other Support Staff

AVT

Advisory Teacher

TAS

Teaching Assistant

SBP

School Business Professional

To resolve this, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the employee with this error and click Employment.

  2. Select Position and then Post Details.

  3. Click Surveys then click Edit in the 'SWC - Schools Workforce Census' area.

  4. Make sure that the Post Identifier is selected as one of the above.

  5. If this is set as an option that is not present in the table above, change it to the correct one. For example 'Support Staff' needs to be replaced by 'Other Support Staff'.

  6. Once this is done, go to Setup and click Settings.

  7. Select Module Settings and then SWC Settings.

  8. Click SWC Post Identifier.

  9. Check the code for each post identifier and make sure that it matches with the codes above.

  10. If incorrect, click on the post identifier and amend the code in the SWC Post Type field.

  11. Click Save.
