SWC Pay range Min and Max not showing for some leadership employees

Follow the guidance in this article if the pay range Min and Max are not showing for some Leadership Employees on the SWC Report.

The School Workforce Census (SWC) Pay Range Min and SWC Pay Range Max within the General Teacher Details these fields are no longer used for the SWFC export.

For the SWC Pay Range Min and SWC Pay Range Max to export and populate on the CSV file to upload for Collect the staff members post must be assigned to one of the below post identifiers.

The Post Identifiers that will show the Pay Min and Max are:

  • EXH - Executive Head Teacher

  • HDT - Head Teacher

  • DHT - Deputy Head Teacher

  • AHT - Assistant Head Teacher

This is as described in the SWC Specification document quoted below:

Note 14: Leadership pay range minimum and leadership pay range maximum

Each leadership teacher will have a basic salary range within which they can expect to be paid while they remain in the same post at the same school. This item is only required for staff with posts of EXH, HDT, DHT or AHT.

How the SWC Report will pick up the Min and Max Pay Range

The SWC report will pick up the grade that is effective on the census date and pick up the start and end spinal point.

For example, the reason a staff member would not show the Min and Max is that their Post Identifier is Classroom Teacher. The reason a staff member does show Min and Max is that their Post Identifier is Head Teacher.
