Permission needed

To give access to an employee to the Self Service menu you will need to give them the Employee role.

  1. Go to the employee's profile and click on the Security tab.

  2. Click on Roles in the menu on the right.

  3. Make sure that the Employee role is checked and highlighted.

⚠️ Important: You will not be able to check if the employee can now see the Self Service menu by temp covering as them, as the temp cover function does not allow access to this menu due to security reasons. Please ask the user to log in in order to confirm.

πŸ“Œ Note: The name of this role might differ depending on your system's configuration. To check the available roles and the permissions associated with them, go to Setup and click on Roles & Permissions.

Pending starters

Another reason why an employee might not see the Self Service menu is if they are currently a pending starter.

To check, you will need to take a look at their start date:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Employment and then Position.

    • In the Post Details section, check the In Post From date. If this is a date in the future, the box underneath will display the message 'Pending Starter'.

The employee will only be able to see the Self Service menu once their employment starts.
