When adding sickness for an employee with the same date in the First Day of Sickness and Last Day of Sickness fields, the system will automatically calculate this as one full day of absence.

To ensure that the system records the sickness as a half day you will need to tick the Worked Part of First Day or Worked Part of Last Day boxes. If the employee has a working pattern, tick the Use Working Pattern box and this will automatically change the working days from 1 to 0.5.

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Absence, then Sickness.

  3. Click Add Sickness.

  4. Select the Sickness Cause and enter the start date in the First Day of Sickness field.

  5. Enter the end date in the Expected Last Day and Last Day of Sickness fields.

  6. Tick one of the below:

    • Worked Part of First Day

    • Worked Part of Last Day

  7. If available, tick the Use Working Pattern box. This will automatically calculate the working days as 0.5.

  8. If the Use Working Pattern box is not available, manually adjust the value in the Working Days field from 1 to 0.5

  9. Click Submit.
