When an employee only has one employment and one employee number on Access Education People but they have two separate numbers in the Payroll system, this may be due to them being transferred to a school with a different tax code.
The correct process for this would have been to terminate the employee in the post for the previous school and then create a new employment at the new school. This would have generated a new employee number for their post at the new school.
Below is the correct process to follow when someone is transferred to a school with a different tax code:
Search for the employee and go to their profile.
Click Employment, then Position.
Click Terminate and complete the termination wizard.
Click Re-Employ at the top of the page (this may be Add Additional Employment if the leaver is still pending).
Add the new employment details and save.
Once this is completed, they will have a new employee number for their post in the new school.
However, if the process has already been completed incorrectly, the issue will need to be addressed in the Payroll system as well. Please contact your Payroll Agent as they will be able to advise further.
