Employee can see other schools in Payroll Claims

Follow these steps if an employee has too much access when going to the Payroll Claims menu, like seeing claims from schools they shouldn't have access to.

Check the employee access on the post

The employee's access to divisions and sections in the organisational structure will be determined by the access settings on their post.

To make sure that these have been configured correctly, please refer to our article on giving access to sections and subsections.

Remove the 'Master All SubSections' permission

If the employee's access is set up correctly on their post, it is likely that they have the permission 'Master All SubSections' which gives them access to all users on the system.

This could be either on their employment or on one of their posts or roles.

To remove this:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Security, then Permissions.

  3. Under Permissions for this Employment, use the Quick Search field to search for Master All SubSections.

  4. Type in Master All SubSections and hit Enter on your keyboard.

  5. If this returns no results, move on to the next Quick Search field and repeat the steps above until you determine which role has this permissions.

  6. If this returns a result, click Edit Employee Permissions.

  7. Search for Master All SubSections and disable the eye and pencil icons.

  8. Click Save.

If you have determined that the permission is inherited from one of the employee's roles, there are two options:

  • Remove the role from the employee: This will also remove all other permissions associated with the role.

  • Remove the Master All SubSections permission from the role: This will affect all other users with this role, making them unable to view all subsections.
