When adding a new starter, their username will be generated automatically after the first and last name are entered, in the format FirstName.LastName.
If you receive the error 'Username already registered' this means there is another user in the system with the same username, most likely due to the employees having the same first and last names.
If you cannot find the employee, it is possible they are a leaver. Even if they have been terminated their username will still exist in the system.
To resolve this, add in the first and last name for the new starter, wait for the username to be generate and then change it to a different value.
Go to Admin Menu and click All Employees.
Click Add Person.
Enter the first name in the Forename field.
Enter the last name in the Surname field.
Change the value in the Username field, for example to FirstName.LastName2.
Click Next to continue adding the new starter.
