In the school workforce census (SWC) there are the following three teaching staff data points.

Qualified occasional teachers

Occasional teachers are teachers that have a contract or service agreement with a school but aren't in regular service.

Their contract or service agreement is for less than 28 days. This data item is a count of the number of occasional teachers with QTS, QTLS, or EYTS in school on the census day.

πŸ“Œ Note: If census day falls on a school holiday the next working day should be used.

Unqualified occasional teachers

This data item is a count of the number of occasional teachers in school on the census day, or the next working day, without QTS, QTLS or EYTS.

Occasional teachers with unknown qualified status

This data item is a count of the number of occasional teachers in school on the census day, or the next working day, whose qualified status is unknown. If no occasional teachers are present on the census day, then the return is zero.

πŸ“Œ Note: These sections are for people who are in school on the day of the census but aren't employees. You need to enter vacancies directly into Collect.
