Each holiday entitlement template on the system is configured either in days or in hours. If an employee's holiday entitlement uses a template that is set up in hours, this will explain why their allowance shows as hours instead of days.

In this case, you will need to change the template to the correct one.

Set up the template

First, make sure that a template already exists in the system that will allocate the correct number of days the employee needs.

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings, then HR.

  3. Select Holiday Entitlement.

    • Look through the list of existing templates. If a template already exists that works for this employee, make a note of its name as this will help you allocate the correct template.

  4. If a template does not exists, click Add Holiday Entitlement.

  5. Select Days from the Days or Hours dropdown.

  6. Enter the number of days in the Entitlement field.

  7. Click Save.

Assign the template

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Absence, then Leave.

  3. Click Edit Current Holiday Entitlement.

  4. Enter the effective date in the Effective Date field at the top.

  5. Select Template.

  6. Select the template from the Template dropdown.

  7. Click Save.

πŸ“Œ Note: It is not possible to set up a template as both Days and Hours. If the employee's template is in Days, their leave allowance will always be displayed in days. If the employee's template is in Hours, their leave allowance will always be displayed in hours.
