Approve sickness

This article provides information on approving an employee's sickness as their line manager.

Set up sickness to require approval

Approval settings are set up on the employee's post by following the steps below:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Employment, then Position.

  3. Click Post Details.

  4. Click Approval, then Approvers.

  5. Click Edit in the Sickness area.

  6. Make sure the Approval Required toggle is enabled.

  7. Select the relevant approver in the 1st Approval Level area.

  8. Click Save.

πŸ“Œ Note: It is not possible to set up 2nd level approvers for sickness.


Close Sickness or Discard

Sickness does not need to be approved in the same way as leave.

Once an employee submits sickness, their approver will receive a notification and will have the option to click on either the Close Sickness or Discard buttons.

Closing the sickness will require the approver to add in the end date. Sickness that does not yet have an end date and needs to remain open should not be closed.

Discarding the sickness will reject it.
