Set up probation

A probation period can be set up on a post or employment, with meetings scheduled at certain intervals of time.

Probation settings on a post

To set up probation details for all employees in a post:

  1. Click Admin Menu and then Post Setup.

  2. Search for the post and click on it.

  3. Click Details in the menu on the left.

  4. Click Edit in the Probation Period section.

  5. Type in a value in the Probation Period field and select an option from the dropdown:

    • Day(s)

    • Week(s)

    • Month(s)

  6. Click Add Probation Meeting.

  7. For each probation meeting, select the amount of time since the probation's start date.

    • For example, you can set up an automatic meeting that will generate one week after the probation's start date.


Probation settings on an employment

To set up probation details for a single employee:

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Employment and then Probation.

    • If the employee's post has no probation details set up, this page will display the message 'From Post : No probation period, no meetings'.

  3. Click Create Probation.

    • If this is the employee's first probation, the start date will automatically be set as the start date of their employment and this field cannot be edited.

  4. Enter the end date of the probation period in the End Date field.

  5. Click Save.

πŸ“Œ Note: You can also set up a probation period when adding a new starter to the system. The Probation area cannot be disabled from showing on the new starter wizard, but you can untick the Create Probation box if this is not necessary for the employee.


Add a meeting to an employee's probation

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Employment and then Probation.

  3. Click Edit and then Add Meeting.

  4. Complete all mandatory fields, such as the Type, Meeting Date and Description.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Once saved, click on Edit on this meeting.

  7. To add an objective, click the Objectives tab and select Add Objective.

  8. To add training, click the Training Management tab and select Add Training Management Course.

  9. To add documents, click the Documents tab and select Upload Document.

  10. Click Save.
