You can set up an email notification based on an employee's date of birth by following the steps below. This can be used to alert certain users of an incoming employee birthday.
To set up the notification:
Go to Setup and click Settings.
Click Notifications, then Add Notification.
Enter the name of the notification in the Description field.
Select Date from the Type dropdown.
Select Person (Person) from the Table dropdown.
Select DateOfBirth from the Field dropdown.
Click Edit in the Emails area.
Select your template from the Email Template dropdown.
If you haven't set this up yet, please follow the steps in our article on email templates to create it.
Determine when the email will be send in the Send Email area.
For example, if you want to send this 5 days before an employee's birthday, enter 5 Days Before like in the screenshot below.
(Important) Tick the Ignore year box.
Select your recipients as needed:
Employee: Will send the email to the employee whose birthday is upcoming.
Reports To: Will sent the email to the employee's line manager.
Other: You can enter any email address in this field.
Click Save.
