Change a National Minimum Wage scheme

If you need to update the NMW values for the current year, or if an employee's NMW is pulling through incorrectly, you can amend the NMW scheme by following the steps in this article.

Updating the NMW values

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click National Minimum Wage.

  4. Find the effective date for which you need to make the change and click the arrow to the left of it to expand its settings.

  5. For each age band, amend the value in the Value field as needed.

  6. To create a new age band, click Add Age Band and enter the start/end ages as well as the value.

    • If a value is meant for apprentices only, check the Apprentice Scheme box.

  7. Click Save and Create Employee Payment Changes.

  8. Click Go.


Create NMW values for a new year

If the values for the latest effective date are correct and you need to add new values starting with a new effective date:

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings and then Payroll Settings.

  3. Click National Minimum Wage.

  4. Click Add New Year Without Age Bands.

  5. Enter the effective date in the Effective Date field.

  6. Enter a title in the Description field.

  7. Click Add Age Band and enter the start/end ages as well as the value.

    • If a value is meant for apprentices only, check the Apprentice Scheme box.

  8. Click Save and Create Employee Payment Changes.

  9. Click Go.


Edit the minimum wage on an employee's salary

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Payroll and then Pay History.

  3. Click the latest salary line.

  4. Click Edit next to Min Wage.

  5. Select the relevant value from the dropdown list.

  6. Click Save.
