Add time worked in lieu
Click Self Service and select My Time Worked In Lieu.
Click Add Time Worked In Lieu and enter the date of the TWIL in the Date field.
Select one of the two options:
βOne Day: Will add one day as time worked in lieu.Hours: You will be able to enter the number of hours worked in lieu.
Add a note in the Comments field if needed.
You will have an Approver field that you need to check to make sure that the correct approver has been selected. Click on this dropdown list and, if there are several options, select the correct approver.
Click Submit.
π Note: Clicking the Escalate button will escalate the approval process to the line manager of the current approver. Please do not click this button if this is not necessary.
Use time worked in lieu when requesting leave
To use the days you've worked in lieu:
Go to Self Service and select My Leave.
Click Add Leave and select the Absence Category. This will usually be called 'TOIL' but may differ on your system.
Enter the first and last day of the leave.
Enter the number of working days and lieu days as needed:
βWorking Days: Leave this field blank if you do not want to use any of your holiday entitlement balance for this leave entry.Lieu Days: Enter the number of lieu days you want to use for this leave, which will be deducted from your lieu balance.
You will have an Approver field that you need to check to make sure that the correct approver has been selected. Click on this dropdown list and, if there are several options, select the correct approver.
Click Submit.
No TOIL option when adding leave
If you do not have a TOIL option in the Absence Category dropdown when adding leave, it is possible this absence class hasn't been created in your system.
A System Owner user will be able to create this by following the steps in our article on how to create a TOIL absence class.
