Add 'death in service' as a reason for termination

Follow the steps in this article to create 'death in service' reason for termination and add it to an account.

Create the reason for termination

  1. Go to Setup and click Settings.

  2. Click Module Settings and then HR.

  3. Click Termination Reason and then Add Termination Reason.

  4. Enter 'Death in service' in the Description field.

  5. Enter a code that is not yet in use in the Code field. This can be no longer than 6 characters.

  6. If needed, select a SWC termination reason from the SWC Termination Reason dropdown.

  7. Click Save.


Select the reason in the termination wizard

  1. Search for the employee and go to their profile.

  2. Click Employment and then Position.

  3. Click Termination and then Terminate.

  4. Select 'Death in service' from the Reason for Termination dropdown.

  5. Complete the rest of the termination process.

  6. Click Submit.
