On an employee's profile you may see three different start dates:
In post from
Start Date
Continuous Start Date
In post from
'In post from' is the start date of the current post of the employment.
You can see this by following the steps below:
Search for the employee and go to their profile.
Click Employment, then Position.
You will see the In post from field in the section called Post Details.
If you transfer the employee to a new post, the 'In post from' date will change to the start date of the new current post.
Start Date
'Start Date' is the start date of the first post in the employment.
You can see this by following the steps below:
Search for the employee and go to their profile.
Click Employment, then Position.
You will see the Start Date field in the section called Employment.
Example
The difference between the 'In post from' and 'Start Date' fields is highlighted below.
Continuous Start Date
'Continuous Start Date' is the historical start date of when the employee was first employed with the company.
It can be previous to all of their employments on the system and will not affect the 'Start Date' field.

Incorrect dates
If any of the dates detailed above are incorrect:
Search for the employee and go to their profile.
Click Admin, then Edit an Existing Post/Position.
Click each line and make sure the start date is correct for each post.
Click Save.
